THE INNER PIECE™ LLC — KINDRED COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

The Inner Piece™ Retreat was created from a place of deep care — a wish to build something gentle, grounded, and real. Each woman who steps into this space brings her own light, and I see yours as an important part of what will make this experience special. This isn’t about rules or red tape — it’s about clarity and safety for everyone who will attend. The agreement you’ll see next is simply a reflection of that care. It helps us both feel protected and free to do our part.
Your participation isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence. Whether you’re assisting behind the scenes or prepping meals, you’re contributing to the heart of this retreat. And I want you to feel supported, heard, and encouraged to take care of your own needs as well. If anything in the agreement feels heavy or formal, please know it comes from a place of respect — it’s there to secure the heart of what we’re building and to honor both of us as we create something meaningful together.
I’m genuinely excited for the women who will gather, for the stories that will unfold, and for the peaceful energy that I know you’ll bring into this space.
With warmth and gratitude,
Shelley

KINDRED COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT
This Agreement (“Agreement”) is made between The Inner Piece™ LLC (“Host”) and the undersigned individual (“Participant”).
The Inner Piece™ LLC is organized in the State of Indiana and lawfully conducts business across all U.S. states and territories. It is written with the same spirit that guides the retreat itself — open, respectful, and grounded in mutual care and understanding.
1. Purpose
This Agreement simply outlines how we’ll work together in good faith to create a calm, connected retreat experience. It sets shared expectations so both Host and Participant can focus on what matters most: offering women a space to rest, rediscover, and reconnect.
2. Participation Status
Participant is not an employee, contractor, partner, or agent of the Host. Participation does not create an employment or contractual service relationship of any kind.
3. Scope of Work
Participant agrees to assist with clearly outlined support tasks during designated times, as described in the attached Retreat Addendum.
These tasks may include assisting with guided meal preparation, setup, cleanup, and light tidying of shared spaces during specific time windows communicated in advance.
The Host will provide clear communication, scheduling support, and a caring environment so the Participant can contribute with ease while remaining fully included in the retreat experience.
3.1 Non-Therapeutic Role
The Participant understands that The Inner Piece™ Retreat is a personal-growth and connection experience and does not provide therapy, counseling, mental-health treatment, or clinical services of any kind.
Participants do not diagnose, treat, or provide therapeutic interventions, and any emotional support offered must remain non-clinical in nature.
If therapeutic or licensed services are ever offered in the future, they will be provided only by individuals properly certified or licensed and clearly identified as separate from general retreat activities.
4. Non-Monetary Exchange
At this stage, Kindred Community participation is offered as an optional, limited-support arrangement supported through non-monetary exchange — lodging, meals, and access to the full retreat experience if the Participant wishes to take part.
This exchange is not considered wages, salary, or employment compensation of any kind and does not create an employee relationship.
As The Inner Piece™ LLC grows, the Host hopes to offer paid opportunities in the future. When that happens, new written terms will be provided and agreed upon before any paid retreat begins.
5. Early Departure
Life can change unexpectedly. If the Participant needs to leave before the retreat concludes, the Host simply asks for as much notice as possible so the group experience can stay balanced.
If departure occurs without communication or clear cause, access to lodging and meals will end at that time. Any financial matters remain subject to the Participant Waiver and related retreat policies.
6. Family or Personal Emergency
We agree that family and wellbeing come first. If an urgent personal matter or true emergency arises, the Participant may leave early.
A quick conversation or message is appreciated to help the Host adjust plans gently and respectfully. Any financial matters, refunds, or credits remain subject to the Participant Waiver and related retreat policies.
7. Standards of Conduct
Participant agrees to uphold the retreat’s values — kindness, inclusion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Any behavior that disrupts the emotional safety or comfort of guests may end this Agreement early, always with communication and understanding at the heart of the process.
The Participant agrees to uphold all retreat boundaries, including the prohibition of alcohol, illegal drugs, personal product promotion, unapproved services, religious or political teachings, and solicitation of any kind. Smoking or vaping of tobacco products only is permitted solely in designated outdoor areas away from buildings and group activities, and all legal wellness products, cigarette or vaping waste must be fully extinguished and disposed of only in designated outdoor receptacles.
Kindred Community Participants remain subject to all conduct requirements, boundaries, and expectations outlined in the Participant Waiver and related retreat policies.
8. Intellectual Property & Materials
The Inner Piece™ LLC owns all rights to its name, logos, retreat design, written materials, and promotional content.
Participant retains ownership of any original content they personally create (such as writings or creative materials).
If the Participant provides any original materials, creative works, writings, recordings, or other content (“Contributor Materials”) for use at a retreat or event, the Participant grants The Inner Piece™ LLC a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, reproduce, display, perform, and adapt those materials solely for Company retreats, recap/portfolio, educational, and marketing purposes, with customary attribution where practical.
This license does not transfer ownership and may be revoked prospectively upon thirty (30) days’ written notice for future uses not already created or scheduled. It does not include confidential information, personal stories, or private materials shared in trust.
Any expanded commercial use (for example, paid courses or products built primarily from the Participant’s materials) will require a separate written agreement signed by both parties.
Both parties may share photos, videos, or reflections from the retreat for portfolio or promotional purposes, as long as they do so respectfully and without misrepresentation.
9. Photography & Media Consent
Participant understands that photos or videos may be taken during retreats and grants The Inner Piece™ LLC permission to use such images in promotional or social materials, unless otherwise requested in writing.
10. Confidentiality & Privacy
Trust is sacred. Participant agrees to protect the privacy of all participants and other retreat guests. Personal stories, identities, or emotional details shared during the retreat will remain confidential unless explicit permission is given or disclosure is required by law.
11. Responsibility, Protection & Personal Wellbeing
Each party is responsible for their own actions and wellbeing.
Kindred Community Participants are included among the Released Parties for acts performed in good faith within the scope of their participation. This protection does not extend to reckless or intentional harm.
The Inner Piece™ LLC cares deeply about the comfort and wellbeing of every participant. Each person is encouraged to honor their own limits and emotional needs throughout the retreat. While the Host will always strive to provide a supportive and safe environment, each Participant remains responsible for tending to their own wellbeing — physically, emotionally, and energetically — and for asking for rest, space, or assistance when needed.
12. Liability & Indemnity
Each party agrees to take responsibility for their own conduct. Neither the Host nor the Participant will hold the other liable for personal decisions or actions, except where required by law.
The Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The Inner Piece™ LLC, its owners, members, and agents (“Released Parties”) from any claim, loss, or liability arising from their acts or omissions during participation.
13. Insurance and Personal Responsibility
The Participant is responsible for their own personal insurance coverage, if any, and for determining whether additional coverage is needed based on their individual circumstances.
The Inner Piece™ LLC does not provide insurance coverage for Kindred Community Participants and makes no representations regarding the adequacy of any insurance a Participant may carry.
Responsibility for any claim, loss, or liability arising from the Participant’s acts or omissions remains with the Participant, except where otherwise required by law.
